It looks like 2019 is getting brighter and more vibrant (which is much needed, amidst all the negative news that we have had over the past year). Pantone, the company best known for their Pantone Matching System (PMS), just announced the colour of the year 2019: Living Coral.
The colour of the year for 2019 is a gold-toned coral, the brightest Pantone pick since 2014′s Radiant Orchid. An “animated and life-affirming” colour, this orange-pink shade with gold undertones conjures images of the vibrant, deep-sea landscape.
It’s also meant to symbolize the human need for optimism and joyful pursuits, as well as the “desire for playful expression,” the company writes.
For the past 20 years, Pantone’s Colour of the Year has been an influencing force in product development, as well as the fashion, interior design, and industrial design industry.
If you are intrigued and want a splash of this joyous colour for your house, here are some tips on how you can decorate around this warm, inviting hue.
Pair it with understated colours
Pantone’s colour experts suggest pairing it with understated colours like grey, olive, and forest green, or taking a more vivid approach, pairing Living Coral with chartreuse, turquoise, and lavender.

As a colour linked to tactility and human connection, Pantone Living Coral in shag rugs, cozy blankets, and lush upholsteries create a warm, comforting, and nurturing feeling in the home.
With its ebullient nature, Pantone Living Coral adds a dramatic pop of colour to any room setting whether in decorative accessories or table top.
Go for minimalistic blinds like the TimberCast Blinds
In order for the Living Coral to add that dramatic pop of colour to your room, you would first need to ensure that the colours of the existing décor are not as loud, as too many contrasting colours might make a room look busy or cluttered.
With a minimalistic design and the option to customise the colours, TimberCast blinds are the perfect choice for aspiring homeowners. For more information, feel free to drop us a Facebook PM on our Facebook page and we will get back to you as soon as we can!
